What is(was) your professional/stage/working name?
Ten
What city(ies) do you work in now (if you’re still working), or did you work in (if no longer working in the sex industry)?
San Francisco, NYC, PA, Conn… and anywhere else they will have me.
How old are you now?
24
At what age did you engage in your first professional sexual experience?
23. I met Lochai last February (2009) and he put me on Hogtied.com. The rest was history.
Describe your first professional sexual experience, including what happened, how you felt, what you were thinking, how you felt afterward.
I did Hogtied.com. I met Lochai at a BDSM convention in Washington D.C. We had a ’scene’ and I mentioned how I looked at the model call sheet millions of times since I was like 16. He told me since he was the director, he makes the rules and if I wanted on, I had a job. I took a week to think about it (I’d just graduated college and wanted to think about potential doors I was closing) then I agreed.
He flew me out to San Francisco and I stayed at the Armory the night before my shoot. Was I nervous? A little. Not about the rope, nipple clamps, paddles, etc. I’d done that stuff for years prior to that. I was more nervous about making bad porn. I’ wanted to look good on camera, damnit!
The experience was amazing. It was a complete blur. I was pushed and pulled and put through the ringer (and I love that sort of thing). It pretty much what I do for fun on the weekends–with a bit more intensity thrown in. Afterward, I was pleasantly sore, exhausted, well-fucked, and content. When I saw the actual video, I was surprised because the experience, for me, stretched and tormented my body oh-so-beautifully in ways that I’d never experienced before, but 50% of the video was from the point of view of my vagina. Not that it didn’t catch the delicious ecstasy present in my facial expressions… but when I saw the raw and real “porn” factor, I realized how many people around the globe were going to share that experience with me. I realized how many orgasms I was going to potentially create. I felt empowered that, not only did I get a personal satisfaction from the events I’d undergone, but people around the globe would get their own satisfaction from it now and in the future!
At what age did you entertain the first (serious) thoughts of going into sex work?
Like I said, I’d been looking at that model call sheet since I was about 16.
What made you decide to enter the line of work you’re in?
They always say, you should love what you do. I love kink, I love sex, and I like exhibitionism. I also realized it would never stop me from what I really wanted to do, if I wanted something that bad.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I get to work in exotic places and live things I’ve fantasized about since puberty– and get paid for them.
What do you like the least about your work?
The social stigma. People think I’m easy. Just because I like sex and do it for a living doesn’t mean I’m going to fuck you, Jackass.
Does your family know what you do? If so, what do they think?
I’ve only told my brother. He’s gay so he has a concept of misunderstood sexuality and also has a degree of open mindedness. His only comment was “As long as you like it and aren’t being sexually exploited, meh”.
I think my sister knows because her friends may or may not have found my porn.
If anyone else knows, they aren’t telling. Like my “kinky” life, it’s a “don’t ask, don’t tell” situation. Even when I show up to Thanksgiving Dinner with a Master and my collar on.
Do you have a spouse, partner or significant other, and if so, do they know about what you do? If so, what do they think?
Currently between relationships. Been in three-ish since I started. All of them *hated* it. Doms don’t like to share. Oh well, right?
How much longer do you think you’ll do what you’re doing now, and what are your plans for when you quit? If you’ve already left, what made you decide to leave and what did you decide to do for work when you left?
As long as I can. Unfortunately the recession has taken it’s toll. I’m considering other forms of sex work in addition to my day job. I’m also looking into higher education. I have a B.A., I was thinking maybe law school or a PhD so I can be a college professor.
Describe your educational background.
I did really well in high school. I got a free merit scholarship to college including room and board. I first started out majoring in Bioinformatics — then decided I didn’t want to spend my life in a lab. I then switched to Psychology but got easily dissuaded by how much common sense the subject seemed to me. I finally rested on History with a Teacher Certification. Halfway through, I decided I didn’t want to teach anymore, but progressed through to attain my History degree. If I’d changed it one more time I might’ve had to actually *pay* for college. Even if it wasn’t my “ideal” I opted to get my free History degree and go from there.
If you had to go back and tell your younger self (mid to late teens) that you’d be doing what you’re doing now (assuming you’re still working in the sex industry), what do you think your younger self would say about it?
My younger self was afraid of what my current self gets paid to express openly. I was afraid to be kinky. I’m not sure how I would’ve reacted. But I sure as hell would love the old, suppressed little girl who thought I was weird to fantasize about being spanked and tied up to see the amazing opportunities my proclivities have introduced to me currently. Then she might not be so upset that her mind goes those places…
What advice would you give someone who was looking to get into your line of sex work?
Talk to other models. Get advice. I had two really great ladies: Maggie Mayhem and Calico advise me before I did my first shoot. They’re refreshingly real people and will tell you things straight up and not placate you.
Don’t do anything that might jeopardize your self worth. I almost did a shoot once… amazingly well paid porn– stuff I KNOW I was going to hate. 2 days before the shoot I had to cancel. I was blinded by dollar signs until then.
I feel good about the work I do because I have yet to do a shoot I didn’t enjoy. The day I do is the day I think I’ll start to get jaded about sex work. I like sex. I like to work. There’s no reason for me to jeopardize ‘loving what I’m doing’ for a quick paycheck.
Be SAFE. Safe calls, shoot escort, wear a damn condom. Just protect yourself. If what you’re selling is your body, you have to protect it.
Never, ever feel like all you have to offer is a body. Your personality is what keeps them wanting you back.
