prost-aWhat is(was) your professional/stage/working name?

Samantha T. Jonez

What city(ies) do you work in now (if you’re still working), or did you work in (if no longer working in the sex industry)?

I’m based out of New York, but I am available for companionship worldwide.

How old are you now?

A lady doesn’t reveal her age. I’ll just say I am entering my thirties.

At what age did you engage in your first professional sexual experience?

I’m going to be completely honest, I was slightly underage (17) when I had my first experience. I was already in college and had found myself needing more money for books and extracurricular activities. I had mentioned this to a few girls on my dorm floor who I know had jobs, with the hope that they could recommend a few places where I could work (in a more traditional sense like the dining hall, retail or one of the educational department offices). Instead 3 out of the 4 of them suggested I go into exotic dancing. They worked together at the same club and were making good money to cover their expenses (one of the girls was paying our ivy-league tuition as a dancer). At the time, I admit I was super nervous but  with a former gymnast’s body and a face that had been called pretty on many occasions, I thought, “why not?”

The girls told me that many of the men in the club may ask for more than a lap dance but it was something that was up to me. They all had “friends” who they say regularly that sought their companionship and made it seem like a routine thing. After a few weeks as a dancer, I received my first “friend request” from an older businessman. I must admit I was a little nervous but after talking to him for a few weeks afterward, I decided to go through with it.

Describe your first professional sexual experience, including what happened, how you felt, what you were thinking, how you felt afterward.

I was so nervous when I met him the next evening in the bar of one of the high end hotel’s in the city.  Again, I was under age, but I came off very mature and following his instructions of wearing something nice, but nothing that would call too much attention to myself, I walked up to him at the bar relatively unnoticed. Back then, carding was a rarity especially in a place like that.

He offered me a drink, I opted for ginger ale (my drink of choice at the club too) with the excuse that my “tummy was a little queasy,” and we talked for about 15 minutes. He really put me at ease. We talked about me being a student and what I was studying and his work. And then we wandered up to his room. It all felt really natural.

When we got up to his room, he was very gentle and sweet and it felt like I was on a date with a long time boyfriend. We kissed a bit and allowed things to take their course. When we finished, we laid in bed talking a little more and caressing one another. About an hour after we finished, we headed out together after he gave me $1000. I didn’t even know what to think. I was excited, a feeling a little cocky, still a little nervous and everything else one could be rolled into one. We would see each other twice a month for years afterward. I see him twice a year now as he moved across country.

At what age did you entertain the first (serious) thoughts of going into sex work?

I was 17

What made you decide to enter the line of work you’re in?

After my first experience (at 17) with my “friend” I realized that I could do this seriously and make good money and still have time to study and do whatever else I wanted.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

The freedom of a very open schedule, the opportunity to meet some very interesting people and the ability to get paid for something I actually enjoyed doing are the best benefits of my line of work.

What do you like the least about your work?

Having to keep what I do a secret from friends and family. It can be lonely in that regard.

Does your family know what you do?  If so, what do they think?

They wouldn’t think that this was a good thing on so many levels.

How much longer do you think you’ll do what you’re doing now, and what are your plans for when you quit?

I probably have a few good years left in me. I want to build an exclusive clientele that I see on occasion (maybe even into retirement). After I leave the industry, I will continue doing what my real life persona does…write.

Describe your educational background.

I went to an ivy-league college where I received a BA. I studied foreign language, economics, history, political science and more.

If you had to go back and tell your younger self (mid to late teens) that you’d be doing what you’re doing now (assuming you’re still working in the sex industry), what do you think your younger self would say about it?

I think my younger self would be shocked beyond belief. I really wasn’t into sex and guys and the like when I was in my teens as I was focused on sports and school.

What advice would you give someone who was looking to get into your line of sex work?

If you are thinking about getting into the industry, do your research, be confident in yourself and truly be prepared for the emotions that it can put you through. Visit various provider boards and read up what others go through (both on the positive and negative side of things) and ask questions. This is not an industry for the light hearted.
