prost-aWhat is(was) your professional/stage/working name?

Jasmine

What city(ies) do you work in now (if you’re still working), or did you work in (if no longer working in the sex industry)?

New York

How old are you now?

22

At what age did you engage in your first professional sexual experience?

22

Describe your first professional sexual experience, including what happened, how you felt, what you were thinking, how you felt afterward.

I met my first client on Craigslist. After a couple of email exchanges and phone calls, I agreed to hop in a cab down to his place. I was so nervous. He was waiting for me outside of his apartment building when the cab pulled up. In his apartment we engaged in some small talk, and then, sensing my nervousness, he pulled me to him. From there, everything felt natural. After we had sex, I got dressed and said goodbye. I was thrilled; I couldn’t keep from giggling in the elevator as I made my way down. I stared at the wad of cash in my hand. I couldn’t believe how much money I’d just made, and the sex was kind of fun too. I felt so confident, so empowered, and so rich!

At what age did you entertain the first (serious) thoughts of going into sex work?

I started thinking about it probably a month or two before I actually started. Once I get an idea in my head, I usually make it happen quickly. I place ads on craigslist. Then, I email back and forth with potential clients, talk on the phone and if I feel comfortable I plan a date with them. Right now I have some regular clients that I see and the income I make from those dates is more than plenty. I only put up new ads online if I want new business.

What made you decide to enter the line of work you’re in?

The money was the most compelling aspect. But, soon after I started working, I realized that I also enjoyed the sex.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Getting paid to get laid! I have had some amazing sexual experiences. I love that in this line of work you get to step outside of your everyday normal self and get to become this totally sexy bombshell.

What do you like the least about your work?

I hate having to conceal this part of my life from friends and family. I wish they would understand.

Does your family know what you do?  If so, what do they think?

They have no idea whatsoever! I don’t even want to consider what would happen if they found out. They would probably think something horrible had happened to me, or that I was psychologically disturbed. Neither one of those is true though.

How much longer do you think you’ll do what you’re doing now, and what are your plans for when you quit?  If you’ve already left, what made you decide to leave and what did you decide to do for work when you left?

Since I just very recently started, I really haven’t seriously considered an end date. Maybe after graduation?

Describe your educational background.

I’m a really serious student, and I’m finishing up my last year of college. I plan on attending graduate school when I’m done.

If you had to go back and tell your younger self (mid to late teens) that you’d be doing what you’re doing now (assuming you’re still working in the sex industry), what do you think your younger self would say about it?

I think my younger self would be surprised, but not shocked. I’ve always been a very sexual and open-minded person.

What advice would you give someone who was looking to get into your line of sex work?

I think it’s important to think about and set your boundaries beforehand. Make sure someone knows where you will be if it’s a new client. And, ALWAYS practice safe sex—no matter what!
