What is(was) your professional/stage/working name?
The Beautiful Kind, or TBK
What city(ies) do you work in now (if you’re still working), or did you work in (if no longer working in the sex industry)?
St. Louis, MO
How old are you now?
36
At what age did you engage in your first professional sexual experience?
19
Describe your first professional sexual experience, including what happened, how you felt, what you were thinking, how you felt afterward.
I started stripping when I was 19. I went into it blind, just walked into the club and got up on the stage and took off my clothes. I did it for ten months. I was WAY too emotionally immature to handle it at the time. It was one of the low points of my life – I thought men were the enemy. It was a traumatic experience – I couldn’t handle having my breasts touched for years afterward, even by a lover. I had PTSD in my tits – every caress felt like being burned.
At what age did you entertain the first (serious) thoughts of going into sex work?
When I was a teenage stripper, I never thought about it – I just did it. I was 34 when I first seriously thought about going into sex work.
What made you decide to enter the line of work you’re in? Be as specific as possible.
I had been laid off from the second job in a row and was hating working in an office. I decided I would rather suck dick than be an office zombie. I wanted to do something interesting and meaningful.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Getting paid to do something I truly enjoy. I love helping people make their fantasies come true. I love that they can be themselves around me – they go through life wearing a mask, but can be open and honest with me. I love knowing that my client wore a cock ring to his board meeting that morning. I love being the highlight of their day. I love all the fascinating stories and experiences in this line of work. I love the freedom, flexibility and fun. I love that I get paid to be naked and cum!
What do you like the least about your work?
I’m afraid of getting arrested. I never know how I’m going to pay my bills each month. I get frustrated when I go out of my way to accommodate someone, only to have them cancel. I sometimes wish I didn’t have to rely on my beauty and body for a living – having to shave my legs, wear heels, worrying about a bruise on my leg or a zit on my chin. I’d rather transition to making a living with my brain.
Does your family know what you do? If so, what do they think?
My family knows. For instance, one time I told my mom someone was paying me a lot of money to throw up on him, and asked if she had any suggestions on how to make that happen. She didn’t even question me, but joked about it, then called me later with some ideas. My dad accepts me for who I am, he likes that he can have honest conversations with me. My siblings are all conventional and think I’m a freak.
How much longer do you think you’ll do what you’re doing now, and what are your plans for when you quit? If you’ve already left, what made you decide to leave and what did you decide to do for work when you left?
Right now I feel like a wild animal – I’m enjoying my freedom and comfortable in my own skin, but never know where my next meal is coming from. I’m actively looking for a full-time steady job with benefits, which is akin to voluntarily becoming a captive zoo animal. I hate the thought of giving up my freedom, but I’m pretty desperate for some stability and security.
I’ve had a lot of positive experiences as a sex worker so far, and feel like it’s only a matter of time before something bad happens, so I really hope I find something before my good luck runs out. I WISH I got paid for all the hard work I pour into my TBK website – I get up at 5am every day to write my posts. I help so many people and play a counselor role and spend hours doing research, but it’s all volunteer work. My dream job would be to have a weekly sex column. I’d love to do something I enjoy that is legal and safe.
If you had to go back and tell your younger self (mid to late teens) that you’d be doing what you’re doing now (assuming you’re still working in the sex industry), what do you think your younger self would say about it?
I’ve always been sexual – I’ve always known I’m bi and had my first threesome at 17, so I wouldn’t be surprised. I wish I planned my career better so I had a degree by now and could be a sex therapist or sex researcher or something along those lines.
What advice would you give someone who was looking to get into your line of sex work?
DO THINGS ON YOUR OWN TERMS. Don’t let others push you around. Set your rules and stick to them. Join a local sex worker community. Having a support system makes a huge difference. There is an online board in St Louis for providers and hobbyists that has been invaluable to many people – it offers friendship, safety tips, networking, and advice for newbies. The woman who started this board is a true philanthropist. Every city should have something like it.

My opinion on your current path and desires for ‘tomorrow’. My wife is 42. She just got her 2 year RN degree. I know you can do get any degree you want. I know you’re smart enough.. Ultimately we all have to find some enduring motivation that we can tap from. I often find having kids makes life easier knowing we’re modeling for them. Let them see you work.. fail.. try again.. whatever it takes to take what is yours or be satisfied that you tried.
Wow, I’ve never read about anybody suffering from what I do – PTSD in my breasts ! I can’t bear the thought of having them touched and it doesn’t turn me on at all. I was molested when I was 16.
You’ve given me some hope that I’ll be able to overcome this one day.
